Political Situation

We haven’t been following the political situation in Thailand. It looks pretty messy to be understood right away. Other than what we’ve been hearing in the papers and TV, the city looks its usual self - unperturbed as if it hasn’t seen protests in centuries. Although a political turbulence is lurking somewhere underneath it all – Bangkok hasn’t lost its sense of city-self – it is intoxicated in a choatic-urban-dance: jammed roads, long waiting hours at traffic-lights, crowded metros and sky-trains, tuk-tuks and pink-cabs pacing about, and hundreds of shoppers crowding around inside multitude malls scattered around the city. My guess estimate is that the number of shoppers is equal to the number of shops. And worst, it looks as if these people will never cease shopping, and not even in the midst of a political turmoil.
